Anderson Kill congratulates the Honorable Marcy Louise Kahn, an alumna of Anderson Kill, upon her appointment by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to a judgeship in the Appellate Division, First Department of the New York State Supreme Court.
Justice Kahn joins the appellate bench after serving as a justice in the state's Supreme Court, where she was first nominated by Governor Mario Cuomo in 1994. Previously she was a jurist on the New York City Criminal Court, appointed by Mayor Edward Koch in 1987. Prior to becoming a jurist, Justice Kahn was a litigation partner with Anderson Kill from 1980-1986. Like many Anderson Kill partners, Justice Kahn began her legal career as a prosecutor, joining the New York State Attorney General's Office in 1975.
"We are pleased to learn of Justice Kahn's ascent to the appellate division," said Robert M. Horkovich, Anderson Kill's managing shareholder. "Justice Kahn is one of numerous former Anderson Kill attorneys serving their country and their states in public service on the bench. Anderson Kill strongly supports public service and we could not be more proud of Justice Kahn."
