Law360 is pleased to announce the winners of its Practice Groups of the Year awards, given to firms that excelled at getting the job done for clients in litigation and deals in 2013.

A panel of Law360 editors reviewed roughly 675 submissions from 130 law firms. The editors ultimately chose 154 groups from 69 firms to honor in this year's awards. Winners were selected based on the significance of the litigation wins or deals worked on, the size and complexity of the litigation wins or deals worked on, and the number of significant, large or complex deals the group worked on or lawsuits the group won between Nov. 1, 2012, and Nov. 1, 2013. Profiles of the winning groups will appear on Law360 beginning Jan. 3.

This year, Law360 is honoring groups across 27 different practice areas, including five newcomers: banking, consumer protection, hospitality, tax and technology. Many law firms had more than one practice group selected for a Practice Group of the Year award, led by Latham & Watkins with nine winners and Gibson Dunn with eight.

Overall, 45 practice groups are being honored for the second year in a row. And 10 elite practice groups have been honored in all four years of the awards. They are Weil Gotshal (Bankruptcy), Gibson Dunn (Class Action), Vinson & Elkins (Energy), Hunton & Williams (Environmental), Sidley Austin (Environmental), Crowell & Moring(Government Contracts), Sidley Austin (International Trade), Steptoe & Johnson LLP (International Trade), Wiley Rein (International Trade), and Bowman and Brooke(Product Liability).
