Courtrooms can heat up as both sides fight to prove their cases.  But lawyers must take pains to avoid losing their cool in front of a judge and blurting out something that should have remained unsaid.

So what should you never say to a judge? .

According to Robert M. Horkovich, Co-chair of Anderson Kill's Insurance Recovery Group:

"The judge has another 400 cases.  Do you think he or she wants to sit there and wait while you plow through documents?"

"That is what you should have done before the hearing. Don't be rude. Judges are people too."
