Law360’s Practice Group of the Year awards “honor the attorney teams behind litigation wins and major deals that resonated throughout the legal industry this past year.”  This is the third time that Anderson Kill’s Insurance Recovery Group has been so honored by Law360.

Anderson Kill’s insurance recovery practice was recognized on the strength of court successes including a finding of coverage for a hotel chain’s business income losses stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic; confirmation of a bankruptcy plan for an asbestos trust permitting claimants to file suit against the debtors to access over $1 billion in insurance coverage; a dropped appeal and final payment by an insurance company to a government entity for asbestos claims at the World Trade Center complex; recognition of insurance coverage for damages and consequential damages stemming from a fire destroying a biodiesel plant and the insurance underwriter’s failure to pay the loss promptly; defeat of an insurance company’s “relates back” coverage defense in an errors and omissions claim; and appointment as special insurance counsel to two major new asbestos trusts.
