Richard W. Brown is a shareholder in Anderson Kill's New York and Connecticut offices and member of the firm’s Construction and Insurance Recovery Practice Groups.  Richard has nearly two decades of experience representing construction industry clients and corporate policyholders in the negotiation and litigation of insurance coverage disputes.

Richard’s experience includes successful recoveries under builders’ risk, CGL, subcontractor default, professional, cyber, marine, D&O, business interruption and other insurance policies. Richard has litigated significant insurance coverage issues in multiple jurisdictions related to construction defects, subcontractor defaults, project delays, design issues and the pursuit of additional insured coverage.

A significant portion of Richard’s practice is devoted to providing strategic guidance to general contractors and other construction industry stakeholders on insurance coverage and risk transfer issues arising out of complex construction claims. Richard also advises insurance brokers and corporate clients regarding the procurement and renewal of insurance, contractual risk transfer and other risk management issues.

Richard earned his J.D. and M.B.A. from Quinnipiac University. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and multiple federal courts.
