Override by Congress Restores 9/11 Victim Bill

Both chamber of Congress executed their first veto override of the Obama presidency on Wednesday to adopt legislation that lets families and victims of the 9/11 attacks sue Saudi Arabia.

The bill, the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act, will create an exception in the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act to let American victims of terrorism sue foreign governments for terror attacks carried out on U.S. soil.
