Our nation’s move toward a more virtual existence is reverberating through the insurance world.  Risks once set in “brick-and mortar” are being re-visited in new and different ways.  The coronavirus pandemic is the most obvious example, creating a furor over questions like what is a “direct physical loss.”  But similar questions have been creeping onto the horizon in recent years.  They include whether electronic data is “tangible property” and whether the loss of electronic data is a “physical loss” if the physical equipment on which the destroyed data was stored is un-harmed.   They also include what, in the insurance world, is the correct treatment of crypto-currencies?  And ride-sharing (Uber/Lyft) and home-sharing (VRBO, AirBnB)?  And, further, when can a weather-related loss be excluded under the auspices of uninsurable climate change?  These questions, and others, will be explored during this seminar by Rhonda D. Orin, a nationally known insurance litigator who has spent more than 30 years pursuing insurance recoveries on behalf of policyholders.  Please don’t miss the chance to attend, and to bring along questions of your own!
