Early 2025 saw far-reaching tariffs imposed by the American government, retaliatory actions by many countries around the world, and upending of the global trade framework that had been in place for decades.

While the full extent of tariffs and their impact continues to unfold, policyholders and their insurers should prepare for loss adjustments and policy renewals that reflect this change in the global trade and tariff landscape. Assessing the impact of potential supply-chain disruptions, price volatility, increase in the cost of materials, and extended time to restore a business after a loss when considering appropriate policy limits, period of restoration and loss measurement.

In this session, attendees will hear from three seasoned insurance professionals: a leading broker for the global energy industry, a midstream company’s manager of insurance and a policyholder-side insurance coverage attorney. Together they will provide insight into how policyholders can account for tariff-related uncertainties in their insurance programs.

Attendees will learn:

1. About assessing the impact of potential supply-chain disruptions
2. Price volatility, increase in the cost of materials
3. Extended time to restore a business after a loss when considering appropriate policy limits, period of restoration and loss measurement.
