Unexpected losses are a frequent event in the construction industry.  Risk transfer and insurance coverage are common means of addressing those losses and recovering for them, but they are not always obvious or even intuitive.  Insurance remains an enigma to many in construction who could most benefit from it.  This presentation will introduce the principles behind risk management for construction and will explain contractual risk transfer as well as insurance coverage issues, from the early stages of contracting to the bitter end of construction defects litigation.  Trends and Take-Aways will also be discussed.
