Dennis Artese will present to Risk Managers and other insurance professionals at The National Catholic Risk Retention Group’s 2025 Winter Meeting on the subject of protecting attorney-client privilege in insurance claims.  Many litigations turn on “smoking gun” emails, and in some cases, simply copying your lawyer on an email is not sufficient to protect that communication from disclosure.  The complexities of the insurance claims process, often involving communications between and among claims representatives, insurance brokers, other consultants involved in the claims investigation, defense counsel, and others, can often muddy the waters of attorney-client privilege and work product protections.  This presentation is designed to educate Risk Managers on how best to ensure that their confidential communications remain that way.
