The response to policyholders’ COVID-related business interruption claims has been a wall of “no.” Following an initial public relations blitz aimed at convincing the public that there was “nothing to see” in commercial property insurance policies, every insurance company refused to pay claims under the property insurance policies they sold, regardless of policy terms or applicable precedent.
