Anderson Kill is pleased to be recognized by Business Insurance as a finalist in the Legal Insurance Team of the Year category of the publication’s 2022 U.S. Insurance Awards. Anderson Kill won the Legal Team of the Year award in 2018, 2019 and 2021 and was a finalist in 2020.

The U.S. Insurance Awards recognize excellence in the commercial insurance and risk management sector, highlighting exceptional work by insurance professionals working at companies across the commercial insurance industry.  The finalists were selected by senior Business Insurance staff from nominations submitted to the publication. A panel of risk managers will assess the finalists, and the highest-scoring team in each category will be announced at an awards event in New York on Sept. 14.

In its nomination submission, Anderson Kill cited court successes in 2021 including a New Hampshire state court ruling finding coverage a New England hotel chain’s  COVID-19 business income losses, a municipal transportation authority’s final victory in a long-running dispute over coverage for asbestos claims, and an order permitting asbestos claimants in a 524(g) trust to pursue more than $1 billion in insurance coverage, as well as settlements for a policyholder seeking coverage for a refinery fire and a hospital system seeking payment from health insurers.
