Petroleum

OVERVIEW

Anderson Kill’s Petro-Chem practice group focuses on assisting companies with compliance and insurance recovery.

We represent a major petroleum marketer in all coverage issues, including releases from leaking underground and above ground storage tanks (USTs and ASTs).
We handled a catastrophic explosion case involving a release of gasoline into a watershed.

We routinely counsel clients with regard to spills caused by leaking underground storage tanks (USTs) and above ground storage tanks (ASTs), overfills, tanker accidents, terminal releases, floods, etc. and have handled arbitrations over coverage disputes under petroleum spill policies for major distributors.

Among others, we have represented a fuel oil terminal operator in contamination trial and obtaining insurance coverage as well as petroleum distributors in spill-coverage arbitrations.

We also have represented marketers before state spill funds, in eminent domain proceedings involving contaminated property and with respect to administrative environmental enforcement in several states.
