Diana Shafter Gliedman, a senior shareholder with Anderson Kill's insurance recovery group, represents policyholders in multi-party, multi-issue insurance coverage disputes with an emphasis on Comprehensive General Liability Insurance, Directors & Officers Liability Insurance, Property Insurance and Errors & Omissions/Professional Liability Insurance. With extensive experience in litigation, arbitration and mediation, Diana prides herself on identifying potential coverage issues early and counseling clients to avoid pitfalls down the road in order to maximize insurance recovery as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
As co-chair of the firm's Restaurant, Retail & Hospitality Industry Practice Group, Diana frequently works with members of the retail and hospitality industries, providing representation and counsel to major retail chains, restaurants, hotels, resorts, theme parks and casinos with regards to insurance, indemnity and other risk transfer issues. Diana is the editor of Anderson Kill's Restaurant, Retail & Hospitality Alert newsletter and speaks frequently at industry conferences and events. She is also a member of the firm's Sports, Media and Entertainment Group.
As chair of Anderson Kill’s Professional Liability Insurance Group, Diana represents lawyers and law firms, architectural and engineering firms, accountants and accounting firms, brokers, financial institutions and other professional entities seeking coverage under their Professional Liability/Errors & Omissions insurance policies. Working with Anderson Kill’s founding partner, Eugene Anderson, Diana helped secure a client victory in the oft-cited case of Rosenberg & Estis v. Chicago Insurance Company. Diana is a former co-chair of the Professional Liability Subcommittee of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the ABA Section of Litigation, and a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance Professional Liability subcommittee.
Since 2017, Diana has been a fellow of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel, an organization composed of preeminent coverage counsel in the United States and Canada. Diana has been recognized by The Legal 500, Super Lawyers, and Benchmark Litigation. In 2023, she was named a Business Insurance “Woman to Watch.”
Diana is committed to pro-bono work, most recently securing a victory for Tibetan independence activist Sherab Dorje in the Matter of the Application for Asylum of Sherab Dorje. She is proud to have spent the entirety of her legal career at Anderson Kill, where she proudly sits on the firm’s Executive Committee, Diversity Committee, and Anderson Kill Women’s Initiative. Diana lives in Brooklyn with her husband and sons, where she sits on the board of Piper Theatre Productions and chases her dog around Prospect Park.

Diana Shafter Gliedman, a senior shareholder with Anderson Kill's insurance recovery group, represents policyholders in multi-party, multi-issue insurance coverage disputes with an emphasis on Comprehensive General Liability Insurance, Directors & Officers Liability Insurance, Property Insurance and Errors & Omissions/Professional Liability Insurance.
