Anderson Kill is pleased to announce that John M. Leonard, a shareholder in the firm’s New York office, has been appointed co-chair with Cort T. Malone of the firm’s Biometric Liability Group, a subpractice of the firm’s Insurance Recovery Group.
As more states pass laws intending to protect biometric privacy, and court decisions favoring plaintiffs alleging violations of Illinois’s Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) proliferate, insurance coverage disputes over BIPA liability have also multiplied. Anderson Kill’s Biometric Liability Group deploys members’ deep experience in litigation of coverage disputes under a full range of liability policies to focus on this area of burgeoning exposure.
John M. Leonard has recovered millions of dollars for policyholders in liability insurance coverage matters, including disputes over D&O and E&O defense and indemnity, general liability losses, environmental liability, and cyber liability, as well as BIPA liability.
