Anderson Kill is pleased to announce that Diana Shafter Gliedman, a New York-based shareholder in the firm’s Insurance Recovery Group, will co-chair a new committee of the New York State Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Section, focused on arbitration and mediation of insurance coverage disputes.
Co-chairing the committee with Ms. Gliedman is Mark J. Bunim, a full-time mediator and arbitrator and member of AAA’s Commercial Large Complex Case Panel.
The NYSBA announcement of the formation of the new committee notes, “A majority of insurance coverage and claim disputes are resolved through mediation and/or arbitration.” Ms. Gliedman adds, “Everything about these vital channels for resolving insurance coverage matters – the rules of engagement laid down in insurance policies, the forums in which they occur, their rules and enforcement mechanisms, and of course, the interplay between parties – requires constant analysis and adjustment. I look forward to working with my co-chair, Mark Bunim, and the committee membership to help develop a forum for discussing, debating and developing these issues.
NYSBA encourages policyholder attorneys, defense attorneys, insurance company in-house attorneys, brokerage in-house attorneys, ADR professionals and any other interested attorneys to participate.
Attorneys who wish to register for the committee should contact Catherine Carl (ccarl@nysba.org). Membership in NYSBA is required.
