Anderson Kill is pleased to announce that attorneys Christina Yousef and Ethan W. Middlebrooks have been promoted to shareholder, effective January 1, 2023.

Christina Yousef, based in Anderson Kill's Newark, New Jersey office, concentrates her practice in insurance recovery.  She has represented policyholders in high-stakes insurance recoveries in federal and state courts around the country, litigating and negotiating claims for liabilities stemming from D&O liability, food contamination, environmental pollution, and construction losses and defects.  Her clients include companies in the hospitality, food service, manufacturing and construction industries.

Prior to joining Anderson Kill, Christina was a Law Clerk for the Honorable Joseph A. Dickson, U.S.M.J., at the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She holds a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she currently coaches the National Health Law Moot Court Competition teams, having won an array of moot court recognitions while in law school. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.

Ethan W. Middlebrooks, who practices in the firm’s New York office, concentrates his practice in insurance recovery. Ethan has assisted numerous policyholders with insurance recovery on a range of matters, including first-party claims involving property and business interruption, and liability claims involving construction losses, D&O liability, educational management liability, and public officials' liability. His clients include companies in the real estate, construction and hospitality industries. A member of the firm's Covid-19 Task Group, he is part of a team that won a decision in New Hampshire state court finding that the presence of Covid-19 caused “direct physical loss or damage.”

Ethan joined Anderson Kill in August 2014.  He took leave in 2015-16 to clerk for the Honorable R. David Proctor of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.  Ethan received a J.D. from CUNY School of Law, where he was an Executive Articles Editor of the CUNY Law Review. He is admitted to practice in New York.

Robert M. Horkovich, Anderson Kill’s managing shareholder, commented: “Christina and Ethan have proven themselves to be highly effective litigators and also adept at resolving insurance coverage disputes without resorting to litigation. They have the full confidence of clients they’ve represented, and ours too.  We’re delighted to welcome them into the ranks of Anderson Kill shareholders.”
