Webinar Recording: Anderson Kill's 27th Annual PHA Advisor Webinar Seminar Series “Cyber Risk and Insurance Claims Survival Guide

Cyber risks continue to evolve in both sophistication and reach, leaving no business immune from attempted attacks – whether in the form of a ransomware attack, business email compromise, or some other type of cyber breach.  Mindful of the ever-changing threat landscape, state and federal regulators have enacted new rules and regulations requiring businesses to adopt various cybersecurity controls.  While these new requirements are meant to ensure that businesses adopt adequate protections to mitigate against potential cyber incidents, corporate officers and executives of business that fail to comply can face personal liability.

At the same time, insurance companies have responded to the increased risks of cyber incidents by rewriting certain portions of their policies, imposing a more detailed application process, and making the claims process more onerous.

This webinar will examine the current cyber landscape, including the latest cyber risks, newly enacted cybersecurity and cyber-disclosure regulations, and recent insurance coverage developments for cyber risk.

Understanding how your insurance policies respond to cyber incidents is key to understanding your company’s exposures -- and your own, if you are company officer or director. This webinar will also examine the steps that businesses with a cyber insurance claim should take (both before and during the claims process) to maximize any potential insurance recovery.

A presentation surveying the state of cyber insurance and cyber risk by Joshua Gold, co-chair of Anderson Kill’s Cyber Insurance Group, will be followed by a moderated panel of expert insurance brokers and coverage counsel discussing some of the key aspects of cyber risk and cyber insurance coverage.  The participants for the broker panel will include Sean Connelly, SVP and GNY Team Leader, Cyber Solutions, AON, Stephen Bedosky, Vice President – Professional and Management Liability, IMA Financial Group, and Dennis Nolan, co-chair of Anderson Kill’s Hospitality Group, and will be moderated by Luma Al-Shibib, co-chair of Anderson Kill’s Cyber Insurance Group.
