When an issue arises that is as huge as COVID, the first reaction of many insurers is to deny deny deny. That is exactly what is happening nationwide. Yet at the same time, insurers are ramping up enormous reserves. So they obviously do not expect their initial denials to be the last word. This session will address what policyholders can do to reverse those denials. The speakers on this panel have devoted their careers to resolving large-scale insurance claims and will review the options of negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation. We also will review the first wave of COVID claims, the legal issues that have emerged in this first round and the developments that can be expected from here.
